Ghost

This work originates from a piece of music by Carola Pissaturo.
It is not a music video. It is an artist’s video: a sequence of moving paintings, created through digital painting.

I chose to work almost without red.
Carola had told me she does not like this color, and I accepted the challenge by eliminating it as much as possible. For me, it was a counterintuitive gesture: red is one of my favorite colors.

At the heart of the work lies both a mental and a physical place: the club.
I was interested in faces — the faces of people inside the music: amazed, surprised, astonished, in love. A small crowd of emotions, all different, all real.

The editing is rhythmic, compulsive, almost hypnotic.
The camera alternates close-ups and wide shots, with continuous variations in distance and intensity, like a breath that accelerates and slows down, following the pulse of the sound.
